Faculty – Census Reporting

Open a course list and record attendance for each class.

Purpose

Record 10th day attendance for each enrolled student in J1 Web so advisors, support teams, and institutional processes can take timely action.

Instructions

Open the Faculty Hub.

In My Course Center, choose Select action→ Manage attendance to open Census Date reporting for the section.
If you have a class where all students on your roster are currently attending, you will only need to click on the green Action and click on Mark never attended complete. This will stop the notifications to you about needing to complete your attendance submissions. We currently do not have a report that will identify classes with all students attending. Please email the Registrar’s Office (registrar@sussex.edu) with the course code and section (i.e. ENGL101-01) and say that all students are attending.
For students who have Never Attended, click on the box next to their name on the roster, go to Options and choose Report Never Attended. You will get a pop-up window with the names of the students who you are reporting as never attended. Click on Save.
Once you have completed entering your Never Attended submissions, you will need to click on the green Action and click on Mark never attended complete. This will stop the notifications to you about needing to complete your attendance submissions.

Troubleshooting & Help

Can’t find the section or Midterm period? Verify term and section filters in Faculty hub; if Midterm is not available, it may be outside the open window—check with the Registrar.
