Playing with words

Sometimes, we speak literally, and our words mean what they say.  Many times, especially in formal speaking situations, we employ figurative, or non-literal speech.  These types of words appeal to our senses and create a mental image or an effect different from the literal meaning.  Below is a brief video explaining this concept in more detail and breaking down some of the terms covered by our chapter.  It's important to understand what figures of speech exist so that we may use them in our speeches and understand them when they are used by others.
